Lighting

Lighting is what
changes the room.

Lighting is what transforms a venue. A plain room with the right uplighting, bistro strings, dancefloor effects, and stage wash becomes something completely different. We design the full lighting package and run all of it from one rig, so nothing feels disconnected.

Uplighting

Wireless LED fixtures along walls and pillars. Any color you want, changed on demand. The fastest way to transform a venue's feel.

Bistro String Lights

Warm Edison bulbs overhead. Outdoor-rated, hung properly, and the most-photographed element at any outdoor event.

Dancefloor Lighting

Moving heads, LED beams, wash lights above the dance floor. Music-reactive. The lighting that keeps people dancing.

Stage Lighting

Spot and wash fixtures for stages, arches, and presentation areas. Speakers look polished. Ceremonies look cinematic.

There's an order to this

Most people book lighting as a list of items. It works better as layers, and the order is close to the same at every event.

Uplighting first

It changes the color of the whole room and it is the most impact per dollar you can buy. A white ballroom in warm amber is a different venue than the same ballroom under the house fluorescents. If you do one thing, do this one.

Then whatever is overhead

Bistro strings outdoors, moving heads over the dance floor indoors. Overhead light is what gives a room a ceiling that feels deliberate instead of just dark.

Stage and spot lighting last, unless there is a program

If people are speaking, presenting, or standing under a ceremony arch, this moves up the list. It is the difference between a face your photographer can see and a silhouette.

Three things that decide what actually works

The venue's own lights. Most rooms sit at some default level that fights everything you bring in. We ask the venue to bring them down and set the level with your coordinator before doors. It costs nothing, and it is the most common reason a lighting package looks weaker than it should.

Ceiling height. Under about twelve feet, moving heads feel aggressive and the beams have nowhere to travel. In a room with twenty-foot ceilings or an open tent, the same rig reads as dramatic. We look at the room before recommending anything.

Outdoors is a different problem. Everything has to be rated for humidity and the storm nobody planned for, and the power has to be distributed properly rather than run through one extension cord. That covers most of the South Florida season.

What we hand over

One rig, one crew, one point of contact. Every fixture runs from the same controller, so colors change together and cues hit together. When lighting comes from three different vendors it looks like it came from three different vendors.
